Festivals
In olden days, our community people were living in villages mainly, as joint families. The way we were celebrating our festivals, fasting methods and Poojas for Ancestors were naturally getting passed on from one generation to another generation, when we were living as joint families.
Currently many families are becoming nuclear because of the compulsions of the Business, Job or Profession. Further, our community which was restricted mainly to few districts in earlier days has now spread to other states and countries. The younger generation that is following our traditions and customs often need to contact their parents or elders to get to know the methods, especially those staying in other states or countries. Hence the details on How to celebrate our festivals are consolidated and given here so that it becomes a handy reference too.
here we have provided the details on how to celebrate various Festivals as per our Customs. Some families in our community perform “Veettu Thava Poojai” and the details of the same are given at the end.
People belonging to various countries and communities earnestly safeguard their culture and traditions.
